Unexpected Hues: Human Impact on Ocean Colors
This series of six posters illuminates the unusual colors in the ocean resulting from human activities like climate change and pollution. Highlighting issues such as Phytoplankton Growth, Algal Blooms, Plastic Pollution, Oil Spills, Acidification, and Melting Ice. Each poster uses a vivid color gradient with five RGB values to visually represent the challenges.
Colors are placed based on real-world ocean coordinates where these issues are prevalent, translated into centimeters for their position on each poster. The posters detail these locations and provide a description as well as the values for each color. This project sheds light on how our actions impact our “blue planet” and urges awareness and action against these environmental changes.
