Brand Identity for Berlin-based tie brand, founded by Kathleen Olstedt and myself. The high-quality silk ties are handmade in Germany and dedicated to womxn.
Junie was born from the personal desire for a simple yet effective accessory that transforms any outfit into a confident statement. A tie from women for women. The ties’ shape, which is inspired by 18th century jabots, is reflected throughout the identity system. The customized J in the logomark, graphic elements and image crops mimic the fold of the tie. To continue this correlation GT Sectra, by Grilli Type, is being used as a secondary typeface and to counter balance the main face, Sharp Grotesk. The goal was to create an identity that is solidly grounded in the product, and yet not overtaking the attention.
All tie patterns were designed in dialog with our community. The packaging is produced by a Berlin-based packaging manufacturer with a focus on recyclable and renewable raw materials and environmentally friendly finishing processes.
